Setting App Notifications

The Breathe Tech app can send push notifications to your smartphone when your Airmonitor Plus detects important changes in air quality.

You can receive notifications for:

• High CO₂ levels
• High PM2.5 levels
• Low battery (when the monitor is running on battery power)

Before You Begin

To receive notifications:

• Your Airmonitor Plus must be connected to Wi-Fi.
• Your phone must have an internet connection.
• Notifications must be enabled for the Breathe Tech app on your phone.
• Push notifications must be enabled within the Breathe Tech app.

Set Your Alarm Thresholds

App notifications for CO₂ and PM2.5 are triggered when the readings reach the alarm values you choose.

To change the alarm thresholds:

1. Open the Breathe Tech app.
2. Select your Airmonitor Plus.
3. Tap the Settings icon.
4. Tap CO₂ Alarm Value or PM2.5 Alarm Value.
5. Move the slider to select your preferred alarm threshold.
6. Tap Confirm to save the setting.

The same alarm thresholds are also used by the audible alarm on the Airmonitor Plus.

Turn App Notifications On or Off

To enable or disable push notifications:

1. Open the Breathe Tech app.
2. Tap Account.
3. Tap the Cog Icon 
4. Tap App Notification.
5. Toggle Alerts on/off

When Are Notifications Sent?

The Breathe Tech app sends notifications when:

• CO₂ rises to or above your selected alarm value.
• PM2.5 rises to or above your selected alarm value.
• The monitor reports a low battery while operating on battery power.

Notifications are edge-triggered, meaning:

• You receive one notification when the reading first reaches or exceeds your alarm threshold.
• You won't receive repeated notifications while the reading remains above that threshold.
• A new notification is only sent after the reading drops below the threshold and then rises above it again.

Device Alarm vs App Notifications

Although they use the same CO₂ and PM2.5 alarm thresholds, they are controlled independently.

• Device Alarm – Controls whether the Airmonitor Plus sounds an audible alarm.
• App Notifications – Controls whether alerts are sent to your smartphone.

Turning one on or off does not affect the other.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving notifications.

Check the following:

• Notifications are enabled in the Breathe Tech app.
• Notifications are allowed for the Breathe Tech app in your phone's settings.
• Your Airmonitor Plus is connected to Wi-Fi.
• The alarm threshold has been reached.
• Your phone has an active internet connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did I only receive one notification?

Notifications are sent only when the reading crosses your alarm threshold. If the reading stays above the threshold, additional notifications are not sent until it drops below the limit and rises above it again.

Does turning off the device alarm stop app notifications?

No. The device alarm and app notifications are separate features. Turning off the audible alarm does not disable notifications sent to your phone.

Can I set different alarm values for the device alarm and app notifications?

No. Both features use the same CO₂ and PM2.5 alarm thresholds. The only difference is whether the audible alarm and phone notifications are enabled.
