Breathe Tech App System Requirements

To use all the features of Airmonitor Plus, you'll need a compatible smartphone or tablet with the Breathe Tech app installed.

The app is available free of charge from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Supported Operating Systems

The Breathe Tech app supports:

• iPhone & iPad: iOS 13.0 or later
• Android phones & tablets: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later

We recommend keeping your device and the Breathe Tech app updated to the latest available version for the best performance and access to new features.

Wi-Fi Requirements

Airmonitor Plus connects using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only - ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during setup. 

The monitor does not support:

• 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks
• Enterprise (WPA2-Enterprise) networks
• Captive portal networks (such as those commonly found in hotels or public Wi-Fi)

An internet connection is required to:

• Complete the initial device setup.
• View historical data.
• Receive app notifications.
• Export data.
• Synchronise readings with the cloud.

Once connected, Airmonitor Plus uploads air quality readings securely to your Breathe Tech account.

Bluetooth Requirements

Bluetooth must be enabled on your smartphone or tablet during the initial setup process so the app can discover Airmonitor Plus.

Once setup is complete, Bluetooth is no longer required for normal operation.

Device Permissions

To ensure all features work correctly, the Breathe Tech app may request the following permissions:

Bluetooth

Required during the initial setup process to discover and pair Airmonitor Plus.

Notifications

Allows the app to send alerts when your configured CO₂ or PM2.5 alarm thresholds are reached, and when the battery is low.

Location (Optional)

Location access is only used to provide local weather information within the app.

Your location is not used to track your movements, and location services are not required for normal operation of Airmonitor Plus.

You can enable or disable location access at any time in your phone's settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Airmonitor Plus without the app?

Yes. Airmonitor Plus continues to monitor and display real-time air quality readings even without the Breathe Tech app. However, features such as historical graphs, cloud storage, data export and notifications require the app and a Wi-Fi connection.

Do I need Bluetooth all the time?

No. Bluetooth is only required during the initial pairing process.

Does Airmonitor Plus work on 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

No. Airmonitor Plus supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only.

Does the app require location services?

No. Location access is optional and is only used to display local weather information.

Is an internet connection required?

An internet connection is required for cloud features, notifications, historical data and data export. Airmonitor Plus will continue monitoring air quality locally even if your internet connection is temporarily unavailable.
