This article covers phone/tablet notifications from the app.
For the on-device audible alarm, see Setting the Airmonitor Plus Alarm article.
App notifications are triggered when readings cross the Alarm Values you set in the device Settings for each Airmonitor on your account. You’ll also get a notification when the battery is low while the device is running on battery power, giving you time to plug in.
What triggers a notification?
- CO₂ threshold crossed: When CO₂ rises to or above your set Alarm Value.
- PM2.5 threshold crossed: When PM2.5 rises to or above your set Alarm Value.
- Low battery: When the device reports a low charge level while on battery power.
Notifications are edge-triggered:
- If a value goes above your set limit, you’ll receive one notification.
- You won’t receive repeated notifications while the reading stays above that limit.
- If the value drops below the limit and later rises to/above it again, you’ll receive a new notification.
Example:
If your PM2.5 Alarm Value is 40 μg/m³ and the device reports 41, you’ll get a notification.
No additional notifications are sent while it stays above 40.
If it falls to 39 and later climbs back to 40+, a new notification is sent.
Where to set values & turn notifications off
- Alarm Values (thresholds): In the app, open your Airmonitor, go to Settings → Alarm Values (CO₂ / PM2.5).
- App notifications on/off: Go to Account Settings → Notifications to disable or re-enable push notifications.
Note: App notifications and the device’s audible alarm are separate. Turning off app notifications does not silence the on-device alarm, and turning off the on-device alarm does not disable app notifications.
