Calibrating the Sensors

Airmonitor Plus uses a high-precision NDIR CO₂ sensor which requires calibration. For best accuracy, perform a quick calibration before first use (and any time readings seem off after transport).

Quick Steps

  1. Power Up Press the rear button to turn on the Airmonitor.
  2. Ventilate (Very important) Place the Airmonitor in fresh, well-ventilated air, ideally outdoors in shade or at an open window, for 5 minutes. Keep it away from vehicles, kitchens, or any combustion sources.
  3. Start Calibration Quickly press the rear button three times. You’ll hear a beep and the CO₂ display will show “--” to indicate calibration has started. After a few seconds, normal readings will resume.
  4. Auto-Stabilization (Temp/RH) Temperature and humidity sensors self-calibrate over the next few hours during normal use.

Tips for a Reliable Calibration

  • Keep the device still during calibration.
  • Ensure the battery isn’t critically low (or keep it plugged in).
  • If you can’t go outside, use an open window with a breeze for several minutes first.

Troubleshooting

  • No beep / “--” doesn’t appear: Make sure the device is on and press the button three times quickly.
  • Readings still look off indoors: Repeat the calibration in clean outdoor air and avoid nearby people or emission sources.
  • Large temperature jump after moving rooms: Allow 1–3 hours for temperature/humidity to fully settle.
