BREATHE|Smart is built around a highly accurate laser sensor. A fan draws air into the device through the side vents onto the sensor which uses laser scattering technology to calculate the number and size of microscopic particualte pollutants. Measurements are taken every second and displayed on the screen so you can easily see whats in the air around you.
BREATHE|Smart is designed to help you make lifestyle choices so you can breathe cleaner air. Studies have shown that you can reduce your exposure by as much as 50% simply by taking alternative routes. With BREATHE|Smart, you can find safer streets, whether you are walking or cycling to work, exercising, or playing in the park.
When indoors, BREATHE|Smart will sound alarms when the air quality deteriorates and let you know when you need to ventilate, especially useful in the kitchen, nursery, or workspace.
BREATHE|Smart’s laser sensor measures particulate pollution by drawing air into the inlet and through the sensor. It is therefore not waterproof so do not get wet or store in damp conditions as this may damage the monitor.
No, BREATHE|Smart is self-cleaning so no maintenance is required.
BREATHE|Smart can be charged using the included dock or by plugging a USB-C cable directly into the device.
If your BREATHE|Smart monitor touchscreen stops responding, press and hold the home button for 10 seconds to force a reboot. The monitor should work as normal after rebooting.
Go to the 'Settings' menu and select 'Factory Reset', then 'Yes', then 'Yes, Reset Device'. This will delete all data and reset to factory settings.
We developed BREATHE|Score as a longer-term way to monitor your exposure to air pollution. It updates every hour with an average of your previous 12 hours exposure. The score starts out at 50 and increases or decreases depending on the level of pollution measured over the previous period. The better the air you are exposed to, the higher the score will be, try to get it to 100.
